Evelyn Alcaraz is a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC). She is a first-generation college graduate who aspires to help others transform their narrative. Let’s face it, life can be difficult, but those difficult experiences do not have to define you as a person. This process begins by nurturing the small victories that help you develop a new narrative. As a Latina, she believes in a respectful model of counseling which encompasses that we as humans are complex and many factors contribute to who we are. She has supported students diagnosed with disabilities to learn and navigate their college-going experience. Having worked in public schools since 2015 the bulk of her experience has been in supporting elementary and middle school-aged students with behavioral, social, and emotional needs. Obtaining her Masters in Counseling and Guidance in 2019 from California State University, San Bernardino where she now teaches as an adjunct professor. Evelyn utilizes a combination of solution-focused and narrative therapy. These approaches focus on identifying the problem as something separate from the person. Together we can develop and work towards goals of what you want your narrative to be.
